TMJ Treatment
Pain or tenderness in your TMJ area can be painful enough to affect your daily life. Our dentist has specific training on examination and helping to alleviate your TMJ pain.
What to Expect
What to expect on your visits.
- Visit 1
The dentist will complete a thorough, detailed examination of your TMJ joint and review medical and dental history. Our team might take records such as digital imaging, cone beam computed tomography and intraoral digital scans. The dentist will provide you with a diagnosis based on findings from your exam and imaging
- Visit 2
The dentist may decide to fabricate an oral appliance to align your Temporomandibular Joint and bite. Instructions will be given on daily use of the appliance and at home instructions for pain relief.
- Follow Up
TMD treatment is an advanced process and requires multiple office visits and possibly multiple appliances to help alleviate pain in your jaw joint. Multiple visits may be requested from the dentist to periodically evaluate and align your TMJ and bite
