Dental Fillings
Cavities occur when decay has progressed beyond the point where your tooth can heal itself or defend against bacteria. When this happens, the decay forms a small hole, or cavity, in your tooth. Fillings prevent these cavities from worsening – helping you avoid pain or more costly procedures such as crowns, root canals or extractions.

Once you are comfortable, the dentist will place topical jelly on your tooth before applying local anesthetic. Your dentist will use a dental handpiece to remove the decay, weak tooth enamel and any old filling material from the affected tooth. The tooth is isolated and a variety of materials are used to prepare the tooth surface for the placement of the filling. We use strong, long lasting composite material to restore the tooth to normal size and shape. Lastly, we check to make sure your bite is well-aligned and we’ve answered any remaining questions you may have.
