Dr. Cerqueira has been serving New Hanover County since 2005. Dentistry has been a part of her whole life. Having grown-up working alongside her dad, who’s a dentist, at the young age of eight years old, she fell in love with dentistry and the ability to help others. She decided by the time she was twelve years old that dentistry was what she wanted to pursue.
Amanda graduated from UNCW with a BS in biology and went on to graduate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry in 2003 with the honor of being voted by her peers and professors as the Most Outstanding Dental Student. In 2003 she was selected by her professors to serve on the forensic dental team for a plane crash in Charlotte, North Carolina.
After graduating from dental school she went back to her rural NC hometown and worked with her dad for several years. Her love of the beach was constantly calling her back to the Wilmington area though. Amanda, with her husband Daniel as the business manager, established her private practice in Carolina Beach in 2005 and thrived for 16+ years. She sold her practice to Dr. Dan Duffy to pursue more family time. Amanda is excited to still be part of the community and help create and sustain healthy and beautiful smiles.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and two dogs. She loves to travel and collect sharks teeth and sea glass while on long walks on the beach. She fiddles around on the piano and with a paintbrush, loves puzzles, Thai and Indian food and trying new recipes!
